Data Translation Announces the First Graphical Test and Measurement Software Application for LXI Instruments

MARLBORO, Mass., − July 17, 2007 − Data Translation today announced the release of the new Instrument Pak for Measure Foundry. Instrument Pak provides the first drag and drop graphical software for LXI test and measurement applications. Users can now easily and quickly configure applications with newer LXI instrument capabilities using IVICOM drivers along with existing VISA and SCPI programs.

Measure Foundry is an open, powerful, application builder that now supports standard instruments: function generator, oscilloscope, digital multimeter (DMM), and programmable power supplies for automated test equipment (ATE). Users can create test and measurement applications combining a variety of instruments without writing any code.

"The Instrument Pak for Measure Foundry offers the ability to make structured process sequences using various instruments," states Fred Molinari, President, Founder, and CEO of Data Translation. "For example, the process component allows sequencing of one instrument to another with conditional results and time frames. Combining existing SCPI support with newer LXI instruments offers unprecedented power for creating test and measurement applications. Process sequences can now run in perfect synchronized modes."

Building on the patented technology of Measure Foundry, the Instrument Pak connects to all standard instruments via IVI-COM drivers which are the basis for all LXI systems. Now instrument applications can be easily used in process sequences with connections via Ethernet to any PC.

Measure Foundry Base − A full-featured, powerful application builder that is the standard Measure Foundry. Existing industry interfaces such as LXI, GPIB, USB, PCI, PXI/VXI, and RS-232 are supported through SCPI commands via the VISA transport layer. Academic versions are available.

Measure Foundry Professional − All the power and flexibility of the Base version with the addition of a built-in installer for easy, royalty-free, one-click distribution of executables.

Instrument Pak for Measure Foundry − This add-on provides access to IVICOM drivers that support standard instruments: function generator, oscilloscope, digital multimeter (DMM), and programmable power supplies.
